Frequently Asked Questions
After application of bonding or veneers the bite may be slightly altered, and it may take several days for the brain to recognize the new position or shape of your teeth. After a week or two, if you still are uncomfortable with high spots or problems with your bite, please call us to schedule an adjustment appointment.
Your speech may also be slightly affected for the first few days, and you may notice increased salivation. This is all normal, and should subside in about a week.
Teeth can be damaged by biting on very hard items. Avoid cracking or chipping your teeth by avoiding biting items such as ice, beer nuts, fingernails, hard candies, etc. Other things that can stain your teeth include smoking, coffee, red wine, and tea.
If you play sports, or if you grind your teeth at night, you may want to consider a mouth guard. Please call to schedule an appointment to custom fit a mouth guard for your optimal comfort.
